Black is the color of the night sky,

or maybe the pupils in your eye.

 

Either way, black is the color of depression,

when you’re stating a dark confession.

 

Black is the color of a bear

when you’re being attacked and gasping for air.

 

It may also be the color of your pen’s ink,

when you’re at your desk and you can’t think.

 

Black is the color of fear,

where a scream is all you hear.

 

Black is the color of a broken heart

when all you wish is to restart.
