I will be traveling to Germany this summer.  Germany is an amazing country for many reasons.  Here are just a few that I found most interesting:

  1. Germany was the first country in the world to adopt Daylight saving time.
  2. Prison escape is not punishable by law in Germany.
  3. Germany has legal say on what babies can be named.
  4. College education in Germany is free even for internationals.
  5. Germany is one of the world’s leading book nations.
  6. It’s illegal to run out of fuel in the German Autobahn.
  7. Germany has over 400 zoos, the most in the world.
  8. There are over 2100 castles in Germany.
  9. One third of the country is still covered in forests and woodlands.
  10. Berlin has the largest train station in Europe.

  1. Funny facts 😀 I am living in Germany and if you move to Germany without any planning then it is not funny anymore. For students: Please consider the things to do as soon as you land in Germany. As an example bring some euros. If you are a student then you have a blocked bank account. To get money out of it will take some time and meanwhile, you have to travel and visit different places. You have to eat. Bring some Euros. Put your name on the mailbox. Make sure your name is correct. You are about to receive a lot of love letters from all the government offices. Here are some more helpful tips. I would advise bring some eatable items too.

  2. My parents actually went to Germany a few years ago for my Dad to have Artificial Disk Replacement surgery. Their technology there is so much more advanced there that the U.S. for the procedure my Dad had to have. They were gone for a month and loved the landscaping and seeing their culture. They was a few things that they were glad the U.S. had, but other than that, they also thought is was an amazing country.
